Privacy policy

This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what happens to it. It covers Classic Cigar Parlor ("we", "us") and this website only — not what happens when you visit us in person.

The short version

This website collects very little. There is no account to create and no shopping cart, and we run no advertising and no cross-site tracking. The only thing the site asks you for is your email address, and only if you choose to join our email list.

What is collected automatically

Our hosting provider records standard server request logs, which include IP addresses, the pages requested, timestamps and browser user-agent strings. These exist to serve the site and to diagnose problems.

We also use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages people look at. It is served from this same domain, it does not set cookies, it does not use device fingerprinting, and it does not build a profile of you or follow you to other websites. We see totals, not people.

Our email list

You can join our email list from the home page or the events page. Both sign you up to the same list.

What we keep

• Your email address.
• Which page you signed up from, and when.
• That you told us you are 21 or older.

Where it's kept

When you sign up, your address is added to a private file kept with our website host, Vercel. It is never published on the website, and only the people who look after our list can open it, with a password.

Tobacco products are for adults, so we ask you to confirm you are 21 or older before you join. We take you at your word; we don't check identification online. If someone under 21 has joined, tell us and we will delete their address.

What we send, and what we don't do

Occasional news from the shop and announcements of upcoming events, including fundraisers. Signing up doesn't send you anything automatically; you'll hear from us when there's news. We use your address for nothing else. We never sell it, share it or rent it, and our emails carry no tracking pixels or tracked links.

Leaving the list

You can unsubscribe at any time: ask us by phone or in the shop and we will delete your address from the list. When we send emails, every one will also have an unsubscribe link at the bottom.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser's local storage, and signing up to our list doesn't change that. There is nothing here to accept or decline, which is why you have not been shown a cookie banner.

Why we use it

• To keep the site working, secure and free of abuse.
• To understand, in aggregate, which pages are useful.
• If you join our list, to send you the emails you asked for.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your personal information, share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, or trade it. We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf:

• Vercel — hosting, request logs, visitor counts, and the private file that holds our email list.Their privacy policy.

The fonts on this site are served from our own domain, so loading a page does not tell a font company that you visited. If you follow a link to Instagram, Facebook or a maps service, that service's own privacy policy applies once you leave this site. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

How long we keep it

• Your email address, if you join our list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
• Server logs: retained by our host on their own schedule, typically a matter of weeks.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive a copy of it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of — including for Global Privacy Control and similar browser signals, which we honour by default. You can leave our email list at any time using the link in any email.

To make a request, call 215-260-2489, or ask us in the shop. We will not treat you differently for asking. We may need to confirm who you are before acting on a request about specific information.

Age

This is the website of a tobacco retailer. Under federal and Pennsylvania law, tobacco products may be sold only to people aged 21 and over, and the site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21; if you believe someone under that age has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and has no database or accounts. Our email list is kept in a private file with our host that is never published and opens only with a password, and the signup form is protected against automated abuse.

Changes

If we change how this site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
